Last Saturday (26) I went to Chonburi province with HITAP members to test an effectiveness of our questionnaire. The questionnaire has developed for 'Social cost of alcohol consumption' project which particularly focuses on the cost of productivity loss and costs that are derived from violence. By the way, my point of rising up this issue is not to explain the project, but the stories from 2 women I met during my survey. I went to households in countryside area of Chonburi where most of the people grow sugarcane and fruits.

 

It was a very hot day when 12 of us, HITAP team were assigned to collect information in different households. I felt like I was going to burnt regarding the extremely hot weather. After looking at those houses, one small wooden house was chosen as my target. Walking closer to the house, one old lady came to us. She said it was fine for us to ask her questions, but she wasn't sure whether she would understand the questions clearly because she was not smart. On of the question we asked was her educational background. She told us that she didn't have any education at all. She lived with her brother and work in his field. She didn't have any income at all. Meals and shelter are only reciprocity. If this is not sad enough, during the whole questionnaire process, she kept saying she was stupid and uneducated. This is so sad. I really don't understand how come one's life can be like this? She's 63! This is the age that people should be retired not working hard in sugarcane field like this!

 

The other case was another old lady who lived with her grand-daughter. When I asked about her education and work. She smiled and told me about her story when she was young. She deadly wanted to study, but once she picked up the book to read, her father shouted that 'Do you want to study or to have something to eat?' She was laughed while telling me this, but for me it was not fun at all. This reflected so many things. When the questionnaire process was about to fininsh, she prepared to go out and work in the field. I teased her ' are you sure you want to go out?, this is extremely hot!' She laughed and replied that 'this is what poor people have to do, no matter how hot'....

Today I went to Thammasat University to submit my application form. It is a final day for submitting the form :P P’Kok told me that last day is ‘good’ because he submitted his on the final day as well and he actually got it >__< (though the rainstorm had beaten me all the way to the destination -__-", still I believe in my luck)

  TotallTotally eight people applied for the post. I and a monk were the last (I guess). The other candidate I met today looked so good that I am afraid I won’t be able to get the post. He was a PhD. Monk!!. He even wrote a book (while I got nothing except my thesis and dissertation…oh…and a waiting-to-be-published article :P) The problem is they required high average grade (3.50) for Master degree and mine is soooo…little T__T. I hope the committee would at least let me try in next step. Therefore I have to have myself prepared for the examination! (to prove that I am better than the university graded me….hahaha)

Few days ago, I got an email from my old friend asking about my life at the moment and particularly when I did my master in the UK. She would like to know tips to get through tough situations. I replied and thought it could be useful for the others as well. So, I decided to edit the letter and post it on my space.

1.         How is your confusing life now?

WelWell, it’s getting better. I am going to apply for a lecturer post this week. The deadline is on 30^th April. I received a call from Aj. Parichart last week reminding me of the deadline! This is quite exciting! The selection process takes 2 months and the final result will be announced on 6^th July.

2.     How to improve writing skill? How to learn a lot of complicated words?

        Basically, I improved mine by doing a lot of reading and writing. (You probably think ‘Of course! I know this! Everyone knows this”…but…it’s still true! ) During the course, we were assigned to read lots of articles. If you read a lot you will automatically absorb the use of structures and new words from the articles. Although it is not easy at the beginning, once you started you will find it is not too difficult to achieve!

    

         As for the complicated words, except from reading and practicing…I have a trick for this…hahaha… I always use this trick when I writing an essay, particularly the long ones. It’s a “synonyms” function, you can easily find it in Microsoft Words. When you write long essay, it can be boring (for both reader and writer) to keep using same words. The synonym is an answer, besides when you use it you can simultaneously learn numbers of new words. I am not saying we have to fully rely on technology, all we need to do is to know how to manage the available technology efficiently ;)

2.          Did you have a problem about language when study your MA? How did you solve it?

Of course I had a problem! (A big one…hahaha)  I sat in the class without knowing anything for a month! I mean, I knew what the lecturers were talking about but I didn’t truly understand them.  There are number of solutions to this problem. In my case, 2 methods (plus, my luck) were employed. They are individual and group methods.

a.       Individual method: You need to force yourself to study harder! And read more and more and try your best to understand the lesson, by preparing yourself in advance. Once you get the course outline and a reading list from a lecturer, you have to actually read them before joining the class. Studying MA is unlike Bachelor’s. For Bachelor, you are there to study and to be taught by the lecturer. However, for MA, it’s different. You are there to synthesis what you have learned, to share experiences with classmates and to analyze your knowledge.  Additionally, studying harder can help reducing depressive feelings and home sick symptoms!

b.      Group method: I found this solution is very helpful. We created a study group which contains 4-5 people. Each is assigned to read a certain article for each week. By the end of the week, we would meet, present and discuss what we had learned from the assigned piece of work. This help reducing your work. You don’t need to read the entire assigned papers, only one article and then you can share. It also helps forcing you to read since this is a group work. Besides, it helps developing relationship with friends!

In addition, I think I was lucky, because my course director was very nice. He helped international students a lot by giving us a course handout very early, so that we could prepare ourselves before hand. The handout would be sent to us a week before the class started. All we needed to do were looking through it and trying to understand unfamiliar vocabularies. This is to help eliminating language barrier from the study. I think this can also so be applied to any cases. The point is that you need to talk a lot with your course director, lecturer, etc. I am sure they will be grateful to help you out.

Well, I think that’s all. Don’t misunderstand by thinking that I am a hard-working type! If you know me well you would surely know I am a very lazy one. Therefore, if I can do it…everyone can!

Recently, I met my old friend through hi5, which is very nice! We haven’t met since we graduated high school. Moreover my other friend just came back from the US. So we had sort of informal reunion.  Well, the point is the most popular question was where I am working (actually this is not the most popular question...there is another most most most popular question…I guess you know it lol). It may seem easy for the others to answer, but not for me!  So, I think it is good to clarify my situation (for my friends and particularly for my own understanding)

Before I went back to Thailand, I applied for an internship at IMA International, capacity building specialists. The company runs training courses for development practitioners around the world. Numbers of their main courses are operated in Bangkok. Basically, I support the trainings in Thailand, conduct marketing activities in this area and search for possibilities for establishing the company in Bangkok. So far, I am quite happy with this job. All my colleagues are nice and helpful. The problem is they are in the UK, not here -__-“

I have a senior who studied health economics (PhD) in UEA. He helped me a lot in terms of study. Our meeting place was library (he might think I am a nerd type…probably this is why he encouraged me to work with him -__-“) By the way, he is a doctor and a researcher, working in International Health Policy Program (IHPP) located in Ministry of Public Health. He initiated new and important program called Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP). Since the program just started, numbers of positions needed to be filled. IMA doesn’t have an established office in Bangkok, my senior offers me a part-time researcher post and allowed me to use HITAP office for my IMA’s work as well. Therefore, I was put in a researcher position. My area is mainly focusing on an establishment and an operation of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) organization. I get to learn a lot since I join the team. This can be considered a real learning organization! I feel like I am back in the university again! (which is good)

Next, after going back to Thailand for a while, I received news from my lecturer from Thammasat University. She told me that the lecturer position in Community Development Department, Faculty of Social Administration is available. The selection process will start soon (probably by the end of next month). I am quite excited but confused at the same time. I have talked to my bosses in both offices. They don’t mind I go for what I really wanted to do at the first place. By the way, this doesn’t mean I am going to get the position. It also depends on my performance on the exam which is rather difficult.

According to all those mentioned stories, I have lots of works to do! I have to have my job done and at the same time concentrating on my study. I have to prepare myself for the not-yet-known-but-coming-soon examination! Wish me luck!

This is actually my first update after going back home. I have been back home for almost 6 months! my life's been rather busy, so I haven't got much time developing my space. I will try to keep it up to date, since this is a way I can keep in touch with my old friends ;)

 

Last weekend I went to Ampawa for flyfires watching. These tiny-glowing things were so cute, so amazing and specially so small comparing to this big-big coulourful world! The trip covered Bangkok, Patumthani, Ratchaburi, SamutSakorn and Samutsongkram (see? it really is 5 provinces trip ;) ). There were 15 people (P'Muay, P'Mai, P'B, Nuch, P'Nok, P'Joom, P'Nard, P' Mor, P'Por, P'Pang, N' Jee, N' Preaw, P'Toon, P'Kok and Jom), 10 cute ladies, 5 guys and 3 cars.

 

The coolest activity was the wakeboard! We firstly went to a place called Lake Point. There are numbers of challenging activities, such as wakeboard, jet ski, paintball and so on. I tried Paintball and Wakeboard for the very first time in my life. They were extremely fun! Although the latter gave me such great pain :P (now I cannot move my arms as usual, I feel like they are falling off everytime I make a move -__-") P' Por was the first one who managed to complete the round. P' Mai and P' Kok were the next ones. The rest?....Hmmm...maybe next time 555

 

The homestay we choosed was so friendly, relaxed and naturally beauitiful. The owner was friendly and hospitality. The place's called Khum Koon Sri Wang Chai. It is a traditional wooden Thai house located just next to the cannal. The owner has grown varied beautiful plants around the house. The given name is from the first owner of the house, he is a great grandfather of the recent owner.

 

In the evening, we visited Ampawa floating night market. The market was quite crowded (as expected). Basically, food and handicraft were main sales. P' B (a lady who loves cat) recommended Thai sweets in Ampawa Market was the best! (I should have tried some, unfortunately there were tons of looking-delicious food while my stomach was rather limited!) After that we went for the flyfires. The Lampoo looked more like a Christmas tree! hundreds of flyfires were glowing upon the tree. It was an amzing moment watching those tiny wonderful cratures! I wish this scene remains forever so that the next-next generation will be able to capture this impressive picture too. ( I, myself, will try my best to help remaining this mother earth. This is the best assets I can convey to my child and the very next generation)

 

After that we went back to the homestay and started the grilling activity ;) According to N' Jee, we systematically and exactly followed the schedule... eating, drinking, playing cards and singing (listening to) karaoke 555

 

The next morning was so bright and fresh! I woke up at around 6.30. P' Nard and P' Mor (Can) had already awoke. I and P' Nard got to swim and row (the-later-on-became historical boat) in the cannal ;) While we were showering, suddenly we heard people screaming (happily...lol). Well...we kinda surely knew what had happened 555. P' Toon sunk the boat -__-" As a result, the funniest video ever was produced... 5555 Late morning, the classical boat picked us up from the homestay and took us to sightseeings. We then left for Benjarong house and Tao Tawee and bought sweets and so on. Finally we headed home separately.

My friend- Youkang gave this book to me last week. I find it very interesting, funny, cleaver and sad! Here are some parts I find impressive..

Well, this is controversial  and currently a popular topic. Dr. Vasri, on the other hand presents the issue differently. He explains crucial points behind the situation. Moreover, he suggests solutions for future good of both PM himself and the society...

       (๑) ที่มา ผู้มีอำนาจต้องการกลบเกลื่อนบางเรื่อง จึงเบนความสนใจของสังคมหรือต้องการใช้เป็นเครื่องมือขจัดศัตรูบางคน หรือปูทางไปสู่การยึดอำนาจเพื่อปกป้องตัวเองจากการถูกดำเนินคดี เช่น อาจถูกศาลตัดสินจำคุก
       
       (๒) ที่ไป สุดแล้วแต่ระดับของวัตถุประสงค์ของผู้สร้างสถานการณ์ เช่น ถ้าต้องการกลบเกลื่อนบางเรื่อง ถ้าสังคมจับได้ไล่ทันก็จะเสื่อมความเชื่อถือลงไปอีก รัฐบาลจะเหมือนเด็กเลี้ยงแกะพูดอะไรก็ไม่มีใครเชื่อ ถึงจริงก็ไม่เชื่อ แล้วก็ถูกเสือกัดตาย
       
       ถ้าทำเพราะต้องการป้ายสีหรือขจัดศัตรู ความขัดแย้งก็จะเพิ่มขึ้น ไปกระตุ้นให้คนเกลียดเกลียดมากขึ้น คนเป็นศัตรูเป็นศัตรูมากขึ้น และคิดขจัดผู้มีอำนาจด้วยวิธีรุนแรงมากขึ้น
       
       ถ้าทำเพราะปูทางไปสู่การยึดอำนาจเพื่อหลบเลี่ยงการตัดสินของศาล ประชาชนจะรวมตัวกันต่อสู้เช่นที่เคยต่อสู้กับเผด็จการในอดีต จะเกิดการนองเลือด และในที่สุดผู้เผด็จการจะพ่ายแพ้ภัยตนเอง
       
       (๓) ข้อเสนอแนะ
             (๑) หยุดการสร้างสถานการณ์
             (๒) สังคมและสื่อมวลชนต้องระแวดระวังอย่าให้ถูกหลอกด้วยการสร้างสถานการณ์
             (๓) ทุกฝ่ายต้องหยุดยั้งป้องกันการนองเลือดด้วยการถอดชนวนที่จะนำไปสู่การนองเลือด
       
       ค. คำแนะนำต่อคุณทักษิณ
       
       ถ้าในอนาคตคุณทักษิณมีโอกาสอยู่ในความสงบ และทบทวนเรื่องอดีตที่ผ่านมา จะทราบว่าผมไม่ใช่ศัตรูหรือขาประจำของคุณแต่อย่างใด แต่พยายามแนะนำในเรื่องต่างๆ
       
       เมื่อปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๔ ผมเตือนว่าต้องระวังอย่าตกไปสู่ “โครงสร้างมรณะ” แต่คุณก็ถลำลึกตกเข้าไปสู่ “โครงสร้างมรณะ” แล้ว วันนี้ผมจะแนะนำวิธีออกจากโครงสร้างมรณะ
       
       กรณีลอบสังหารไม่ว่าจะเป็นไปตามสมมติฐานที่ ๑ หรือสมมติฐานที่ ๒ ล้วนจะพาคุณเข้าไปสู่โครงสร้างมรณะทั้งสิ้น
       
       เวลาที่คุณจะทำประโยชน์ในฐานะนายกรัฐมนตรีหมดลงแล้ว คุณได้ผ่านจุดยอดที่มีอำนาจสูงสุด และมีผู้คนสนับสนุนสูงสุดไปแล้ว แม้ในจุดที่สูงสุดนั้นคุณยังไม่สามารถแก้ปัญหาที่สำคัญๆ ของบ้านเมืองได้ ถ้าจะกลับมาเป็นนายกรัฐมนตรีอีก ท่ามกลางความขัดแย้ง ท่ามกลางความเกลียดชัง ท่ามกลางความไม่เชื่อถือ จะแก้ปัญหาของประเทศได้อย่างไร ในทางตรงข้าม จะเกิดความแตกแยกและรุนแรงมากขึ้น และอาจนำไปสู่การนองเลือด
       
       ไม่ต้องนับข้อหาฉกรรจ์ๆ ที่มีต่อคุณ ซึ่งคุณอาจปฏิเสธว่าไม่จริง แต่ที่ปฏิเสธไม่ได้ก็คือในฐานะนายกรัฐมนตรีคุณไม่สามารถสร้างความสมานฉันท์ในสังคม และไม่สามารถระงับการสูญเสียชีวิตของผู้คนใน ๓ จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ได้ แค่นี้ก็เพียงพอที่นายกรัฐมนตรีคนใดหรือในประเทศใดจะแสดงความรับผิดชอบได้แล้ว การคงอยู่ไม่สามารถสร้างความสมานฉันท์และดับไฟใต้ได้ ให้คนอื่นมารับหน้าที่นี้จะเป็นทางออกของบ้านเมืองได้มากกว่า
       
       คุณอาจจะกลัวว่าถ้าลงจากอำนาจ จะถูกดำเนินคดี ซึ่งอาจมีโทษถูกจำคุกและยึดทรัพย์ ไม่มีใครมีอำนาจที่จะไปขัดขวางกระบวนการทางกฎหมายได้ แต่อย่าลืมว่าสังคมก็เช่นเดียวกับคน ที่มีความสามารถในการอภัยอย่างยิ่งใหญ่ ถ้ามีการยอมรับผิดหรือขอโทษ ที่แอริโซน่าการที่บิดาของเด็กวัยรุ่นที่ถูกฆ่าให้อภัยและไปดูแลเด็กที่ฆ่าลูกของตน เรียกน้ำตาของผู้รู้เห็นทั้งหมด ที่แอฟริกาใต้ตำรวจคนขาวยอมรับในที่ประชุมใหญ่ของคนผิวดำว่าตนไปฆ่าคนผิวดำ แทนที่คนผิวดำจะกรูกันมาฉีกเนื้อตำรวจผู้นั้น แต่ทั้งห้องประชุมระงมไปด้วยน้ำตาและการให้อภัย
       
       หัวใจของความเป็นมนุษย์และอภัยวิถี เมื่อถึงเวลาเป็นเรื่องที่ยิ่งใหญ่มากสุดประมาณ
       
       ทางออกจาก “โครงสร้างมรณะ” ด้วยสันติวิธี คือคุณทักษิณต้องตัดความกังวลด้วยประการทั้งปวง มีความกล้าหาญที่จะประกาศ ๓ ข้อดังต่อไปนี้
       
       (๑) พูดว่า “ผมพอแล้ว “ แล้ววางมือทางการเมืองทั้งหมดเด็ดขาดทันที
       (๒) ขอร้องให้ประชาชนผู้สนับสนุนตน จงร่วมมือสมัครสมานในแก้ปัญหาประเทศด้วยสันติวิธี และสนับสนุนนายกรัฐมนตรีคนใหม่ไม่ว่าจะเป็นใครก็ตาม
       (๓) จะออกไปทำงานทางมนุษยธรรมแบบบิลล์ เกตส์
       
       ถ้าทำได้ดังนี้ จะเกิดความสงบเย็นทันที ทั้งตัวคุณทักษิณเองและประเทศ ถ้าไม่ทำคงหนีการนองเลือดไม่พ้น
       
       ทั้งหมดที่กล่าวมาโดยสรุปก็คือ ประเทศจะพ้นการนองเลือดจากวิกฤตการณ์การเมืองอยู่ที่  ทักษิณเสียสละ หรือเสียสละทักษิณ

Recently, I've been reading about political situations in Thialnd. It became more and more violent...This is so sad, unforgivable, cruel and horrible! I cannot just stand reading these stories anymore! My mind is getting exploded! How come innocent people (especially, young people, very old-70-year-old man, and women) got attcked from those bad guys. If this is not horrible enough, those polices, who are supposed to stand by normal people side....were there watching the bad guys beating ordinary people on the street in centre of Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. Isn't it ridiculous? I really wish I could be there...surely I would have done something. Now, I'm thinking about going back home as soon as I finish my dissertation. I hope I can to something to fight back unfair occurance happening in Thailand. I know I'm just a normal person, I might not be able to do any big thing to change the entire situation. Even though, there is only small thing I can do...well, for me, it is better than nothing. I really want to cry when such thing obviously happens in front of my eyes, and I knw this is not right...but there is nothing I can do!!!! ทำไมปล่อยให้เกิดการทำร้ายประชาชน หรือสมรู้ร่วมคิดด้วย                        นายแพทย์นิรันดร์ พิทักษ์วัชระ รักษาการ ส.ว.อุบลราชธานี กล่าวระหว่างร่วมรายการ “คลุกวงในข่าว” ดำเนินรายการโดย น.ส.อัญชลี ไพรีรัก ทาง ASTV เมื่อคืนวันที่ 22 ส.ค.ที่ผ่านมา กรณีนายแพทย์พรหมินทร์ เลิศสุริย์เดช เลขาธิการนายกรัฐมนตรี ออกมาให้สัมภาษณ์ด้วยน้ำตาเรียกร้องให้คนเดือนตุลาหยุดการปลุกเร้าประชาชนต่อต้านรัฐบาลว่า ในฐานะนักเรียนแพทย์รุ่นพี่มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล อยากบอกนายแพทย์พรหมินทร์ว่าอย่าบิดเบือนประเด็น เพราะสมัยที่เป็นนักศึกษาด้วยกันก็รู้ดีว่าสิทธิของประชาชนที่ออกมาชุมนุม หรือแสดงความคิดเห็น เป็นสิทธิที่ถูกต้องตามกฎหมายในระบอบประชาธิปไตย และปัจจุบันกฎหมายรัฐธรรมนูญก็ได้เปิดโอกาสให้ประชาชนสามารถที่จะมาแสดงความคิดเห็นได้ สิทธิเหล่านี้ไม่เคยทำให้คนถูกกระทืบ เพราะเป็นสิทธิทางการเมืองที่สามารถแสดงความคิดเห็นได้อย่างเปิดเผย                นายแพทย์นิรันดร์ กล่าวต่อว่า การพูดคำว่า “นายกฯ ออกไป ทักษิณออกไป” ไม่ได้เป็นคำหยาบ ประชาชนสามารถทำได้ ถ้ามีคนมาบอกทักษิณออกไปแล้วอีกฝ่ายบอกทักษิณสู้ๆ ถ้าตำรวจออกมากั้นทั้งสองฝ่ายจะไม่มีการถูกกระทืบ แต่นี่กลับปล่อยให้อันธพาลมาล็อกชาวบ้าน กระทืบคนแก่ ทุบตีเด็กและผู้หญิง ตรงนี้ปล่อยให้เกิดขึ้นได้อย่างไร                นายแพทย์นิรันดร์ กล่าวฝากไปถึงนายแพทย์พรหมินทร์ว่า เราผ่านเหตุการณ์ต่างๆ มามาก การชุมนุมเรียกร้องของประชาชนสมัยที่นายแพทย์พรหมินทร์เข้าไปมีส่วนในการวางแผนด้วยก็ทำอย่างนี้มาตลอด แล้วเราก็เชื่อมั่นว่านี่คือสันติวิธี แต่สิ่งที่มันเกิดเหตุการณ์ร้ายแรงเนี่ยเพราะมันมีคนที่เป็นไอ้โม่ง และขณะนี้ก็คือไอ้โม่งที่เราคิดว่าสำนักงานตำรวจแห่งชาติต้องตอบว่าไอ้โม่งที่ทำให้เกิดความรุนแรงและทำร้ายประชาชนเกี่ยวข้องกับรัฐตำรวจที่เป็นอยู่ในขณะนี้หรือไม่ นายกฯ ต้องตอบด้วย ในฐานะผู้บังคับบัญชา และต้องจี้ให้สำนักงานตำรวจฯ เปิดโปงออกมาให้ได้ว่านายตำรวจชั้นผู้ใหญ่ กับ 2-3 คนที่ปรึกษาหารือกัน กำลังทำอะไรกันอยู่ และทำให้เกิดพฤติกรรมในการทำร้ายประชาชนได้อย่างไร                รักษาการ ส.ว.อุบลฯ กล่าวต่อว่า นายแพทย์พรหมินทร์เคยผ่านเหตุการณ์อย่างนี้มาก่อน ต้องรับรู้ว่านี่คือสาเหตุที่ทำให้เกิดเหตุการณ์รุนแรงทั้งสิ้น ถามว่าตอนที่เราไปช่วยกรรมกรที่อ้อมน้อยแล้วตำรวจลุยเข้าไป นั่นคือการใช้ความรุนแรงทำร้ายประชาชนทั้งสิ้น หลายคนถูกฆ่าตายก็เป็นอำนาจรัฐทั้งสิ้น เพียงแต่ว่าขณะนี้เราเห็นชัดในวีทีอาร์ว่าเป็นการวางแผนโจ่งแจ้งในที่เปิดเผย                “หมอพรหมินทร์ทำให้เกิดเหตุการณ์อย่างนี้ได้อย่างไร นี่คือเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นใจกลางเมือง ดีที่มีสื่ออยู่ ถ้าเกิดขึ้นในเวลากลางคืนผมว่ามันฆ่ากันตายมากกว่านี้ ดีไม่ดีตรงนั้นอาจจะเป็นจุดที่เกิดมิคสัญญีขึ้นใจกลางเมืองก็ได้ ผมต้องถามหมอพรหมินทร์ต่างหากว่าได้ดูเหตุการณ์นี้ทั้งหมดหรือเปล่า ถ้ารู้อย่างนี้หมอพรหมินทร์ต้องตอบนี่ด้วย ก่อนที่จะมาถามคนเดือนตุลา คนเดือนตุลาจะรู้ทันทีว่านี่คือวิธีการในการที่จะเข่นฆ่าประชาชน เพียงแต่ว่ามันถูกบล็อกด้วยว่ามันเปิดเผย โปร่งใส และถูกสื่อทุกสื่อจับอยู่ตลอดต่างหาก” นายแพทย์นิรันดร์ กล่าว                นายแพทย์นิรันดร์ กล่าวต่อว่า รู้สึกเศร้าสลด ไม่คิดว่าจะเกิดเหตุการณ์อย่างนี้เกิดขึ้น ในขณะที่หมอพรหมินทร์เข้าไปอยู่ในศูนย์กลางอำนาจ เป็นเลขาธิการนายกฯ ด้วยซ้ำไป เพราะฉะนั้น คนเดือนตุลาไม่ต้องตอบหรอก คนที่ต้องตอบคือหมอพรหมินทร์ กับหมอสุรพงษ์ (สืบวงศ์ลี) ว่าปล่อยให้เหตุการณ์อย่างนี้เกิดขึ้นได้อย่างไร                รักษาการ ส.ว.อุบลฯ กล่าวต่อว่า ไม่เข้าใจว่าทำไมนายแพทย์พรหมินทร์จึงพุ่งเป้าไปที่คนเดือนตุลา ทั้งๆ ที่เขาก็คือคนเดือนตุลาเขาต้องตอบก่อน เพราะตอนนี้เขาไม่ใช่คนเดือนตุลาอย่างเป็นนักศึกษาแล้วเขาเป็นผู้มีอำนาจ เขาปล่อยให้เหตุการณ์อย่างนี้เกิดขึ้นได้อย่างไร แล้วเขารู้หรือเปล่า หรือเขาสมรู้ร่วมคิดด้วย อันนี้ต้องตอบ                ด้าน นายแพทย์ตุลย์ ศิธิสมวงศ์ แพทย์ประจำ รพ.จุฬาฯ ผู้ร่วมรายการ กล่าวว่า นายแพทย์พรหมินทร์กำลังพยายามเบี่ยงเบนประเด็น เพราะไม่เคยมาถามเลยว่าคนที่มาไล่รักษาการนายกฯ รู้จักคนเดือนตุลาหรือเปล่า เขาเองยังไม่รู้จักเลยว่านายแพทย์นิรันดร์เป็นคนเดือนตุลา                นอกจากนี้ ทั้งคุณหญิงสุดารัตน์ เกยุราพันธุ์ นายจตุพร พรหมพันธุ์ ก็บอกว่ามีจัดตั้ง แล้วเคยได้มาคุยกับคนเหล่านี้หรือเปล่าว่าทำไมถึงมา คนเหล่านี้เขามาเพราะพบว่าผลการกระทำของนายกฯ เขารับไม่ได้ เขาจึงมา ไม่ต้องจัดตั้งอะไร ไม่มีใครสั่งการ ขอแค่รู้ เขาก็จะมา ซึ่งเป็นสิทธิของเขา                นายแพทย์ตุลย์ กล่าวต่อว่า ขอถือโอกาสตรงนี้ที่จะบอกว่าไม่ได้มีการจัดตั้ง ถ้าเกิดทุกคนที่กำลังกล่าวหาคนที่มาแสดงความคิดเห็นต่อต้านนายกฯ ว่าเป็นการจัดตั้ง แสดงว่าเขายังไม่ได้มาพูดคุยกับคนเหล่านี้เลย เป็นการกล่าวหาทั้งสิ้น แถมยังพยายามเอาประเด็นเรื่องคนตุลามาเป็นคนบงการ                “ผมบอกว่าอันนี้ไม่ใช่การบงการ ในทางตรงข้ามผมว่าคนที่มาก่อเหตุรุนแรงในวันนี้เสียอีกที่ถูกบงการมา ผมว่าเด็กที่ทำร้ายคุณลุงอิทธิพลเนี่ย ถ้าจับได้ คือติดตามตัวได้ ลองมาสอบปากคำดูว่าเขามาอย่างไร อันนี้ก็จะชัดเจนขึ้น”                นายแพทย์ตุลย์ ยังได้ตั้งข้อสังเกตในส่วนของตำรวจว่า ที่เกิดเหตุเป็นเขตของ สน.ปทุมวัน ซึ่งมี สน.ลุมพินี อยู่ใกล้เคียง ทำไมต้องให้ตำรวจสันติบาลไปด้วย รวมถึงตำรวจสายสืบในความดูแลของผู้บัญชาการนครบาล 6 และใช้ถึง 8 โรงพัก แสดงว่าต้องมีคำสั่งอย่างชัดเจนให้ระดมกำลังกันมา อย่างนี้อ่านเจตนาได้ว่าเพื่อสกัดกั้นให้คนเกรงกลัวและไม่มาทำอีก                “ผมอยากจะพูดตรงนี้ว่า ผมเชื่อว่าในใจของทุกคนที่เห็นข่าวนี้ บอกเลยว่ารับไม่ได้ ถ้าเกิดอะไรขึ้นมาก็จะยิ่งเหมือนกับใส่น้ำมันเข้าไปในกองเพลิง อย่าใช้อย่างนี้เลยนะครับ ผมว่าอันนี้คือการทำลายตัวเองชัดๆ แล้วมันก็คงแย่ลงไปเรื่อยๆ สถานะของนายกฯ กับคณะทั้งหลายที่ทำเหตุการณ์นี้เกิดขึ้น ผมคิดว่าคงไม่ดี” นายแพทย์ตุลย์ กล่าว

I think I spent too much time with myself and on my own thought -__-'' I hate really hate the feeling of feeling pity and sorry for myself..aahhh really hate this...[well, you may not understand what I want to communicate but this is my place for rubbish, so....this is how it works :P)

I dunno...my own thoughts/minds...they are always fighting each other...like today, the bad one kept telling me nobody (in Thailand) wants me...no one cares whether I'm still alive (exept Daddy who always call and check if everything is alright...although he frequently calls at wrong time...lol), but the other mid (the good one, I guess) disagreed. It told me that everyone had their own life to live on and they probably had so many busy things in their life, beside the cost of communication was so high that no one could afford to keep in touch with you every single day, silly Jom!

Well...I agree!!!...BUT! I just need...I don't know..what I want, really -__-''

Oh...maybe...I need to scream! AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

“How’s your dissertation going?” , at the moment, seems to be the most popular question among people around me. Everyday, every morning I wake up… I can tell I have to encounter this question at least 2 times a day! Yet, it is the most difficult question to answer (and I definitely don’t bother to think about any other innovative way to answer)! The only answer from me is ‘smile’... (If you can suggest any good way to answer the question...please give me alternatives! I would be really appreciated!)

By the way, I feel like writing something to keep my space alive, plus my daily life with academic stuff is so… boring (and scary at the same time :P)

Last (last) weekend, I had a chance to visit London with some friends. I named it ‘arts-for-boring-life week’. I and other 2 friends left Norwich at 5.45 from coach station, actually, we should have be able to take a train and save few hours sleeping in our warm and comfortable bed rather than unbendable, uncomfortable seat on the coach...Well, unfortunately, the train workers union were on strike … (I don’t blame them though) By the way, we arrived crazy-busy London at 9am. I and P’Yot went directly to buy theatre ticket for ‘Marry Poppins’. Luckily (or not) there were the cheapest 4 seats available for us. After that, while waiting for other 3 friends to arrive, we went to the National Gallery ^__^ I love-love love it! There were variety of paintings from Davinci to Monet (my favourite ;) ) I bought small and medium prints of Monet and Renoir's work and they were perfectly fit on my ugly wall :D

In the evening, we went to the theatre. The musical was fantastic! it presented an interesting combination of many forms of arts and performance. They used magic, music, movement and definitely...money (m, m and m...LOL) Everything was so nice...err...actually except for our cheapest seats :D that one of us came up with initiative idea of cancelling our train ticket and stay longer for another musical! Well...yeah...we finally did that (how crazy, huh?) So, the other night we went for ‘Evita’. This one reminded me of Thai prime minister and his fellows, in deed!

Well…by the end of the day…we arrived at peaceful-quiet Norwich safely... (with no money left….hahaha…kinda happy ending, huh?)

Dear my beloved (Jomkwan) space,

It's been so long since I last added the entry :P I know I know...actually, there's no excuse Well, there are so many new things happened in my borring life...my final academic work-the dissertation, my new part time job, my news and new flat-mates!....

This is my last semester in DEV, UEA. Now, I'm working on my dissertation which is mainly about the network of young people who involve in social development activities, both voluntary and social movement activities. Hmm..I'm still struggling with adapting the most proper outline and simultaneously developing the context...

My new part-time job, so far, is going quite well. (Oh...I'm working at Theatre Royal, my obvious-but-try-to-hide purpose is.... definitely free seat for musical play...LOL) People there are friendly, helpful and nice! I get to learn many new things I've never known before...I might write another story about working in Theatre Royal later ;)

Well, next thing is...actually, I'm quite happy about this one ;) I just recieved a call from IMA International organization ^__^ It's the organization I applied for an internship last week. They seemed to be satisfied with my CV, and made an appointment for an interview next month ;)...well, hopefully, I will have something to do after my graduation :P There are still so many things to be planned and done in my life...

What else...hmm...oh! there were 2 new students moved to my flat yesterday, one's from Taiwan (Verna) and the other's from Indonesia (Mohammad)...well...this made me feel like it's time for me to go back home now...hee hee hee

 

            Is planning, analysing and researching before delivering or implementing social policies that difficult?

 

Why there are loads of problems remain and repeat occurring 'after' certain social policies are placed? In one country, (in my country) there are tons of researchers and scholars from different field of expertises, but why those same-old-problems remain?

 

It is generally acceptable for some types of policies failures, but for some…particular mistakes should not persist, for example, according to my secondary-data-research-for-HIV/AIDS-alleviation-and-protection-plan-in-Thailand essay, I found data from national statistic office that obviously indicates particular difficulties women with HIV/AIDS have been facing. These difficulties are deemed harder than what men have been through. However, the policies, programmes (….whatever…) never seemed to (have little small tiny effort to) notice the issue. WHY???

 

Is it because warning voices were not heard or there were no warning voices at all at the first place?

 

I'm planning to research for the answers...of course..after my examination! :P...but surely I will...I will!

 

What an amazing and wonderful night! J Thank you DEVers!, esp, Steve who perfectly organized the party! (How can you make this??? Don’t you have essays or exams to concentrate on??...LOL).Everyone was so fab! (I felt so guilty I didn’t wear anything extraordinary …T__T…if only I knew you guys would go crazy like that…hee hee ..

 

I really like Environment and Development team! They came with the theme ‘snow white and the dwarfs’!!! sooo…cute! J Oh…Gender and Development team is also impressive…lol (Andy I really love your Elvis costume and Jan with your engineer costume…LOL and the hairy chest as well!!...LOL..) Oh! The prettiest guys must go for those Japanese guys who let us, the girls, wear funny make up on your faces…it was sooooooo fun!

 

First, I and Mr. Kim were planning to leave the party around 10pm for the library (how crazy!)…then…we just completely attracted by socialization among DEVers..hahaha…and guess what? What time did Miss Jomkwan finally go home?...hmm…3am!...(I really feel guilty now!) But...I think spending good times with friends is as important as studying, don’t you think so?

 

Some of our friends have to leave immediately after the final exam for doing research in different countries, such as India, and Afghanistan, etc. Therefore, we have to organize the party quite early. We did have good time laughing, chatting, and planning to visit each other after graduation and so on. I can’t believe I totally fall in love with these guys within a year! J Though, I’m glad to go back home soon, but these people are so nice that I don’t want to leave them!

 

I will wait for your visits to Thailand!! Nice nice nice and great to know you people…Thank you for everything ^____^
